Day 1 Recap

Hannah here!

Day 1 was amazing. The day's weather started off kinda crappy...

But when we got the RV home, the sun cracked! (a sign?!)

Note the turkeys coming and checking things out!

Reid's perma-grim, hehe!

It took a LONG time to pack up but we made it out around 2:20. The first day's drive was about 4 hours and we made two stops on the way!

First stop was the "famous" Jolly Green Giant sign. Classy photos needed to happen.

The second stop was at Mankato Brewing. The boys had some testers. The location was really cool! Smelled really good :)

The drive is nice, saw a lot of corn and soy. There was a stretch of wind turbines! It was so cool! It was hard to capture on my phone though.

One really cool thing was there was a tiny plane flying really low crop dusting!! He flew really low right in front of us, you could almost see his face. So cool!

We ended the day that Yogi Bear's Jelly Stone Camp in Sioux Falls, South Dakota! Oh yes! It's as amazing as you would think. I honestly was super impressed. The amount of activities and facilities they had and it was super clean and a ton of people there!!!! When I checked in they gave me a big packet of info along with the daily schedule. It was so cute! Activities, and daily yogi bear cartoons and movies and field activities. The people were really nice too. I seriously suggest staying there especially if you have kids.

Set up was fast and easy. We all were really hungry by the time we got there so we got dinner set up and cooked super fast and it was sooooo tasty. We later stayed in for watching a show and I made cookies! It was funny using this tiny oven. One cookie got burnt... oh well!

I slept like a rock, since it was nice a cold inside (since Reid said I could do that, hehe!) and so first day/night was a success.

This morning we got up and got ready, ate some breakfast and talked to the people next to us. I had to walk out and say hi as they pulled down the back of their RV that HAD A MINI GARAGE! They were super nice! With no surprise they were going to Sturgis! They has a beautiful and big RV, so they are serious about it! Haha.

Today we're on the road for about 6 hours and we're headed to The Corn Palace!! Oh yeah!

I'll update soon!

THIS IS HAPPENING!

Hannah here.

After hyperventilating from excitement and almost passing out from heat and moving things in the RV... WE'RE ALMOST READY! Reid is showering and Braden and I are holding fort.

My mom came with a gift basket of goodies and also an awesome LED lantern! We needed one! So cool. Also, Reid and Braden's parents came by too and brought cupcakes and more goodies.

We have so much food. Oh man.

Bo is pretty upset right now, but uncle Ian will be with him all week :) They are bros.

As always, I feel like i'm forgetting something really big and important; probably not though.

I'll update once we're on the road! Thanks again everyone for the comments ;)

Over and out for now!!

Hannah here!

WE LEAVE TOMORROW! AHHH! I'm so excited. I called Pleasureland and confirmed everything was good to go, and it is! We pick up at 9:00 am tomorrow in Ramsey and bring it home, pack up, and off we go!

Today has been food shopping, cooking/baking and last min gathering. A lot of the last min packing is stuff we use normally so it's hard to keep track of it sometimes.

The lists are almost all checked off, and things are "organized" between the living room, kitchen and garage. Right now I'm really hoping we can fit all this in the RV, haha!

The Piñata is done! I wish I had more time to make it better, but I think it turned out pretty cute :) I hope it makes the trip out to CO safely!

Braden brought some amazing food that I can't wait to try! Reid is in the garage gathering the last things off his list, and I'm finally settling down a little after a day of crazy gathering.

Thanks to everyone for the wishes for a great trip! I have no doubt that it will be amazing. I'm very blessed to be able to do something like this with two amazing men in my life! Stay tuned!

Piñata and Getting Ready!

Hannah here!

Less than one week away! AHH! I'm so excited. Reid has been in China so I've been pulling together details and things. The upper living room is ground zero for the time being. Braden and I have been collaborating on food and meals. From the list we have, we're going to be eating like kings (and queen!) of the road!

I'm so excited, anxious and a little nervous! I'm all over the place but mostly so exited for this trip! I just hope it all goes well getting the RV and stuff, after that I'm not worried at all!

Kara (cousin's future awesome wife) asked me to do what I do best... CRAFTS! She wanted a piñata and she trusted me to do whatever I wanted (bwahaha!). I chose to do a cute hot air balloon piñata. I'm hand making everything! At first I wanted to do this for them, now I'm taking this on as a personal challenge! It's going to be amazing!! Today I got two layers of paper mache on and all the tissue paper parts cut out. I got a cool dye cutter with a ruffle edge to add more depth and texture.

Tomorrow once it's all dry I get the color on it and also start weaving the "ropes" for the basket, "flame" and netting. Confused? You'll see tomorrow ;)

Oh, and there are tiny sand bags filled with sand... Because what piñata doesn't need that?! Anyway... It's going to be epic and I'll post photos of the progress!

First mate Hannah, reporting in!

It Begins!

Hello everyone! Hannah here. I wanted to set up this blog in preparation for the big trip! From here, you can see photos, videos and stories from the road.

You may be asking yourself, "why are you doing an RV trip to Colorado?"... Good question! For a long time now, Reid and I have been talking about taking an RV trip. We never really moved forward on the idea until my cousin Matt got engaged to an awesome woman named Kara and the wedding is in Colorado! Right then and there we knew this would be the perfect opportunity to do the RV trip.

As I was shopping for RV rental places in Minnesota, I asked Reid, "how big of an RV should we get? If it's going to be just us two?" He looks at me and says, "Get the biggest one you can find. I want to do this once and I want to do this right." I start laughing thinking he's joking, but he wasn't! We ended up booking a 31' RV. Yes, that's big. It has 3 sides that pop out too to make it that much bigger. Oh yeah, and to make it better... we're renting from Pleasureland! For those who are in Minnesota, you know where I'm talking about!

After that was set in motion, I was thinking about how that's so much RV for two people. I asked Reid his thoughts of asking Braden (his brother) to join us! Reid loved the idea, and Braden loved it even more. Freaking out over the idea of an RV trip, us three committed to a once in a lifetime opportunity.

We will be leaving late July and are on the road for 8 days of epicness! Not only that, but Braden's birthday is during the trip! Best birthday ever?! I hope!

So, as the date get's closer the list of things to do gets longer! I hope we have everything ready to roll out on the 28th and I hope you will join us on our adventures!
